About IPC360
Assess. Improve. Protect.
IPC360 is a digital platform for Infection Prevention & Control programme assessment, used by hospitals and by the healthcare professionals who run their IPC programmes. It turns a structured IPC assessment into a durable digital record, shows where the gaps are, and measures whether they are closing.
IPC360 helps healthcare professionals assess, monitor and strengthen Infection Prevention and Control programmes using a structured WHO IPCAF-based methodology.
What the platform does
- Structured programme assessment
- The full WHO IPCAF instrument has 8 core components and 81 indicators, with scores ranging from 0 to 800. Each indicator is answered separately, and drafts can be saved and resumed.
- Digital record keeping
- Every answer, score and report is stored against the framework version it was answered under, so a historical assessment continues to mean what it meant at the time.
- Gap identification
- Weak and missing answers become an explicit gap register, each entry traceable back to the indicator that produced it.
- Monitoring
- Findings, corrective actions and their verification are tracked through to closure, with separation between the person who does the work and the person who confirms it.
- Repeated assessment and progress tracking
- An assessment can be repeated against a previous one, and the two are compared overall and component by component, so improvement is measured rather than asserted.
- Evidence-driven improvement
- A gap, a corrective action or a minimum requirement can be supported by uploaded evidence, which is verified by someone other than the person who supplied it before it counts.
- Management reporting
- A management-ready report that states the score, the level, the strengths, the gaps and the priorities, printable as it stands.
Assessment methodology
IPC360 uses an assessment methodology based on the WHO Infection Prevention and Control Assessment Framework (IPCAF).
IPCAF is a self-assessment instrument published by the World Health Organization. It structures an IPC programme into eight core components and scores each out of 100, giving a total out of 800, interpreted against four published bands:
- 0 to 200 Inadequate
- 201 to 400 Basic
- 401 to 600 Intermediate
- 601 to 800 Advanced
IPC360 implements this methodology. IPC360 is not a WHO product and is not certified or endorsed by WHO. A score computed here is a summary of the answers an assessor entered. It does not certify, accredit or attest that a hospital is compliant with any standard or is clinically safe. Interpretation, and any accreditation decision, rest with the hospital's IPC and quality leadership.

How the data is handled
- No patient-identifiable data. IPC360 deals in facility and operational information only, programme structure, policies, training, surveillance capability and the like.
- Assessments are private by default. A doctor's assessment is visible to them and to anyone they name on it. The rule is enforced in the database, not by hiding buttons.
- Scores are immutable. A finalized assessment stores its score as a snapshot with a full per-question ledger, so re-tuning the scoring engine can never move a historical result.
- The audit trail is append-only. Enforced by the database itself, so the record of what happened survives even a direct SQL connection.
- Recommendations are deterministic. Each one is produced by a stated rule and stamped with the indicator that triggered it. Nothing generates a recommendation, changes a score, or marks a requirement compliant on its own.
